BY Low Carbon Classification and Calculator have received an Honorary Mention in the Concrete Structure of the Year 2024 Competition. Requirements related to emissions from construction projects have been tightened up and BY Low Carbon Classification provides a reliable system for declaring the carbon footprint of concrete. The Classification system is a voluntary method for the reduction of CO2<\/sub> emissions from concrete. It comprises a calculator used in the web browser to calculate the carbon dioxide emissions from concrete and to perform comparative calculations. The calculator offers a function for printing emission reports. Several experts were involved in the development of the system and the working teams of the Concrete Association of Finland were headed by Professor Jouni Punkki from Aalto University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
