The Jury complimented both the design of the bridge and its engineering solutions. The bridge piers and pylons form an entity with consistent design. In the Jury\u2019s view, the structural point where the composite beam bridge becomes a cable-stayed construction was a particularly demanding technical detail that had been excellently resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raippaluoto Bridge was built in harsh conditions by the open sea, which made it necessary to use blast-furnace slag concrete for the castin-place pylons. Despite the difficult conditions, the bridge was completed two months ahead of the schedule, \u201cthanks to good work management and the professionalism of the builders\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deck was built from precast slabs, which contributed to the shorter overall schedule.
