Precast technical shafts for building systems refer to shafts supplied with building systems installed inside them. As a rule, precast technical shafts for building systems are one storey high. The technical shafts for building systems are erected at the same time as other precast units, either as independent shafts or as a part of a partition wall structure.

When erected inside load bearing walls, technical shafts for building systems are treated as holes in the wall, i.e., they break the lines of stiffening walls. In terms of construction engineering, this poses a challenge for the stiffening of the building.

The range of load bearing precast technical shafts available in the market is limited at the moment. A load bearing precast technical shaft refers to a product that acts as part of the load bearing and stiffening wall structure.

From the point of view of a structural designer, there is a demand for products of this type. The construction sector needs to launch a cooperation project for the preparation of guidelines for the use of non-load bearing and load bearing precast technical shafts.
