In the town of Parainen, the largest single Building processes included in the project are the new bridges built across Kirjalansalmi Strait and Hessund Strait. The bridge crossing the Kirjalansalmi Strait will be a cable-stayed bridge with a total length of more than 600 metres and a maximum span of about 250 metres. The last bridge of this scale built in Finland was completed over 20 years ago. The bridge built across Hessund Strait is 200 metres long and has a maximum span of about 100 metres.

The project also covers the improvement of the condition and intersection arrangements of highway 180 including, among others, the Building of two underpasses – the Valoniemi and Ekback underpasses – for cyclists and pedestrians as well as a flyover for fishery school Livia. New noise barriers will also be constructed as part of the project.

The project is implemented as a single contract using the alliance model which is well suited for the implementation of technically complex projects. The model is based on close cooperation between the different parties involved in the project, which facilitates the seamless progress of the project as well as innovative solutions and cost savings.
