The Church in Hyvinkää is an internationally acknowledged modern concrete building from 1961, designed by architect Aaro Ruusuvuori. The facades of the monumental, pyramidic Church are of white concrete. Over the decades, they had been soiled by pollen, algae, lichen, and airborne pollution. The joints were also in need of reworking.

The facades underwent a comprehensive remodelling in 2019–2020. Their condition was inspected, the old joints between the precast panels were removed, the facade was washed and the joints rebuilt, and the cleaned Surface of the facades was treated with a protective impregnation agent. The maintenance activities enhanced the appearance of the facade and will protect the facade surfaces.

The facade maintenance project proved to be a cost-efficient alternative to the replacement of the precast facade panels. The maintenance work carried out will help maintain the distinguished appearance of the Church also in the future.
