EriCa Green Chemistry Park – new concrete facade architecture

The winner of the 2025 Concrete Facade Architectural Award is EriCa Green Chemistry Park in Espoo. The building provides cutting edge facilities for research and development in chemistry and serves as an assembly of the leading operators of the sector. The architecture of the property is identifiable in the urban setting, combining the ideals of modernism with geometric rationality.

The vertical relief pattern on the light-coloured concrete surface of the facade has been implemented using the form concrete technology, the new surface patterning method developed in Finland. The large windows wrapped like tape around the corners of the building on all facades complete the overall facade expression.

The high-standard finishing of detail planning as well as the material choices support the identity of the building as a business accelerator for green chemistry. Thanks to the relief pattern on the facade and the high quality of implementation, in particular, the building complex as a whole stands out in its setting.
