Taideyliopiston uusi rakennus Helsingin Sörnäisissä tarjoaa taiteen opetukselle maailmanluokan tilat. Rouhealla arkkitehtuurilla luotiin mahdollisimman joustavia tiloja, joita taiteen eri alat voivat muokata omakseen.
Helsingin Kalasatamassa sijaitsevaan Verkkosaareen valmistui elokuussa mittava asuinkortteli Portus, jonka muotokieli hakee esikuvansa isoista loistoristeilijöistä. Myös julkisivun koristeelliset reliefikuvioinnit ovat merellisiä, ja niitä on varioitu oivaltavasti teollinen näkökulma huomioiden. Kohde sijaitsee osittain meren päällä, mikä asetti omat vaatimuksensa perustamisolosuhteille ja alapohjan vesitiiveydelle.
Verkkosaareen rakennetun Portuksen perustukset valettiin kolme metriä merivedenpinnan alapuolelle padon suojassa.
